Google starts to censor torrent-related search queries
New Yark:Searching for file-sharing information via Google is going to take a little bit more effort now, thanks to new steps taken by the search engine to remove all sorts of references to torrents from its instant search and autocomplete features.
In December, Google said it was taking steps towards "making copyright work better online." Among other things, it promised that "terms that are closely associated with piracy" would no longer appear in autocompletes.
Although it may be seen as an effort to crack down on illegal file sharing, the move is a troubling one, particularly for those who provide BitTorrent services. No surprise, these companies are quick to point out that there are many legitimate uses for torrents.

Eden Gardens can still host other matches if it is ready: ICC
New Delhi, Jan 30 (PTI) The ICC today rejected BCCI''s appeal to reconsider its decision to take away India-England cricket World Cup match from Kolkata but its president Sharad Pawar said the Eden Gardens can host the other three ties if it is ready on time.
"The first match may not take place there but the rest of the three matches could have a chance if the requirements are fulfilled," Pawar told reporters here.
"We have written to BCCI regarding this. I spoke to BCCI president Shashank Manohar to get the stadium ready so that other matches are staged there," he added.
The historic 100,000 capacity stadium lost the right to host the crucial February 27 India-England tie after failing to meet the completion deadline for renovation work.
The BCCI at the behest of the Cricket Association of Bengal appealed to the ICC to extend the completion deadline for the tie to February 7.

Eden Gardens will not host India-England World Cup 2011 match
New Delhi: Kolkata's Eden Gardens will not host the India-England World Cup tie slated for February 27 due to its unpreparedness, the International Cricket Council (ICC) said Thursday following an adverse report from the venue inspection team.
The inspection team comprising tournament director Ratnakar Shetty, members of the Central Organising Committe (COC) and the ICC reported on the readiness of five outstanding venues after visiting the facilities. The team inspected Eden Gardens Tuesday.

केपटाउन वनडेः रोमांचक मुकाबले में जीती टीम इंडिया
न्यूलैंड्स स्टेडियम में खेले गए बेहद ही रोमांचक मुकाबले में भारत ने साउथ अफ्रीका को 2 विकेट से हराकर वनडे सीरीज में 2-1 की बढ़त ले ली है। 221 रन के साधारण लक्ष्य का पीछा करने उतरी भारतीय टीम की शुरुआत अच्छी नहीं रही थी। लेकिन नीचले मध्यक्रम में यूसुफ पठान और सुरेश रैना के 75 रन के बेहतरीन साझेदारी के बाद भज्जी के उपयोगी पारी के बूते भारत केपटाउन में पहली बार साउथ अफ्रीका को हराने में सफल रहा।
साउथ अफ्रीका के 220 रन के जवाब में भारत ने 10 गेंद शेष रहते ही 8 विकेट पर 223 रन बना लिए। भारत की ओर से यूसुफ पठान ने सर्वाधिक 59 रन बनाए। और गेंदबाजी में भी उन्होंने एबी डीविलियर्स का अहम विकेट हासिल किया। पठान को इस हरफनमौला प्रदर्शन के लिए मैन ऑफ द मैच करार दिया गया।
मोर्ने मोर्कल ने कहर बरपाती गेंदबाजी को देखकर ऐसा प्रतीत हो रहा था कि भारत मैच हार जाएगा। लेकिन पहले यूसुफ पठान और उसके बाद भज्जी ने बल्ले से अपना जौहर दिखाकर मैच भारत की झोली में डाल दिया। पठान जब आउट हुए तब भारत को जीत के लिए 39 रन की जरूरत थी। लेकिन हरभजन सिंह ने संयम बनाए रखा और अहम मौकों पर दो गगनचुंबी छक्के भी जड़े। भज्जी ने पहले जहीर खान के साथ 26 रन और आशीष नेहरा के साथ नाबाद 15 रनों की साझेदारी निभाई।
